Acoustic Response Characteristics of Stranded-Structure DAS Sensing Cable Based on Ultra-Weak FBG Arrays

Abstract

To address insufficient acoustic sensitivity and mid-to-high frequency attenuation in conventional DAS cables, a stranded-structure sensing cable is proposed. An acoustic pressure transfer model is established and validated through finite element simulations. The stranded-structure cable achieves acoustic pressure sensitivity of 77.3mrad/kPa at 100Hz and average sensitivity of 83.23mrad/kPa across 100-800Hz. Pipeline leak monitoring experiments on a 110-meter simulation pipeline successfully identified leak points.
