Ray-Sensing engineers in the laboratory

ABOUT RAY-SENSING

Fiber sensing, developed from the laboratory to the field.

We develop ultra-weak fiber Bragg grating arrays, sensing cables and interrogation systems as one connected measurement chain.

Ray-Sensing R&D and engineering team, Yichang, China.

WHO WE ARE

An engineering team built around the complete sensing chain.

Ray-Sensing is the international brand of Yichang Ray-Sensing Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. Founded in 2018, the company works across grating fabrication, optical interrogation, sensing-cable design, signal processing and field deployment.

This integrated approach matters because a distributed sensing system is only as reliable as the connection between its optical element, cable mechanics, interrogator and interpretation method.

HOW WE WORK

The work is visible in the process.

The photographs below are from Ray-Sensing facilities. They show the places where sensing hardware is assembled, tested and prepared for deployment.

01

Fabrication and assembly

Optical components, sensing cable and interrogation hardware are handled as parts of one system rather than isolated products. Assembly controls, connection quality and repeatable process steps establish the baseline for later measurement.

Measurement before deployment

Modules and assembled systems are evaluated with real fiber, connectors and sensing lengths. The aim is to observe the complete signal path before equipment leaves the laboratory—not only whether individual parts power on.

Research tied to engineering questions

The team studies how ultra-weak reflections are generated, detected and converted into strain, temperature or dynamic information. The same questions continue through cable design, installation and field interpretation.

A CONTINUOUS LINE OF WORK

From early UW-FBG research to an integrated sensing platform.

  1. Research foundation

Early theoretical work established the basis for ultra-weak grating arrays.

  2. First demodulation prototype

A working prototype connected the array concept with practical signal acquisition.

  3. Engineering exploration

Research moved toward sensing cables, system integration and infrastructure monitoring.

  4. Ray-Sensing founded

The company was established in Yichang to continue the transition from research to field systems.

START WITH THE MEASUREMENT

Bring us the structure, the environment and the signal you need to recover.

We can then discuss the sensing topology, cable construction and interrogation method that fit the measurement boundary.
