Oil and gas assets — platforms, pipelines, wells, and refineries — operate in the most demanding environments on earth: high temperatures exceeding 200°C, extreme pressures, corrosive chemicals, and explosive atmospheres. The energy asset monitoring system combines multiple fiber optic sensing modalities into a unified deployment:

Pipeline Leak & Intrusion Detection: uwDAS fiber buried along the pipeline right-of-way continuously monitors acoustic signatures. Real-time algorithms distinguish between normal flow noise, pigging operations, excavation activity, and leak-generated acoustic emissions — localizing events within 5 meters. Complemented by UW-DTS fiber for thermal leak detection, the system achieves sub-5% flow-rate sensitivity through negative pressure wave analysis.

Downhole Production Logging: UW-DTS fiber deployed behind the well casing provides continuous distributed temperature profiling along the entire wellbore, enabling zonal flow allocation, gas lift monitoring, and steam injection profiling without intervention — critical for optimizing production from multi-zone completions.

Offshore Platform & Subsea Integrity: UW-FBG strain sensors bonded to critical platform members, risers, and subsea structures deliver real-time structural health data. The corrosion-free, EMI-immune fiber sensors eliminate the need for underwater electronics and provide 25+ year service life for subsea installations.

Mining Subsidence & Power Grid: UW-FBG surface strain arrays track ground displacement above active mining zones with sub-mm precision, while UW-DTS fiber on power cables and transformer windings provides continuous thermal monitoring for grid asset management. All sensor data converges at the RS-series interrogator and the Ray-Sensor platform for centralized visualization, automated alerting, and SCADA integration.
